My New Grocery List!

I'm a mom of three beautiful children that I adore with all of my heart.. Now I have always been one to dress up for occasions and church, but once I became a mom I just figured I needed the mom clothes.. Well after 4 years of wearing sweat pants and sneakers and after my second child was born I realized I really looked like a slob.. (my honest opinion). Why would I let my children be an excuse not to improve myself. If I feel good inside and I do.. why wouldn't that be reflected on my outside.

What I'm getting at is workout clothes are for working out. I don't remember when the grocery store became a workout place. Why is it that when talk shows do make-overs on moms they go looking in the grocery store.. Wouldn't it be great to go through a store and see all these gorgeous moms dressed to kill.. I don't mean you have to wear a ball gown..

Here is the important list of grocery store necessities:
1. Dark blue or black jeans, wide-leg or straight leg. If you are 140 pounds or less then go for the skinny jean.. but you really must be skinny to wear a skinny jean.. Otherwise anyone looks good in a straight leg jean.. Lose fitting if you are fuller in the thigh area. Even a trouser jean.. gives a dressy look in a jean.

2. A mid-hip jacket, can be one large button or 3 button down. Since this is a casual situation you can go for a more casual feel to the jacket.. Don't be afraid of colors.. For spring look for a thinner cotton so you still stay cool and a 3/4 length sleeve.. This will absolutely be a great staple for your wardrobe. Any body shape will benefit from this look thin to thick.. It hides any bumps you don't want seen or it gives you a little curve when you have none.

3. Long cami or tank top. Your tank top can go longer then your jacket. Sleeveless so you are not too hot for the spring/summer and go with a really bright color.. If you are not comfortable with color use this piece of clothing to experiment.. It will be under your jacket so only a little bit will show. Make sure it fits close to your body, but not tight. Remember you do have a jacket to cover over top..

4. Accessories: Shoes can be a great wedge or ballerina flat, or a flat with a really sharp point.. Again don't be afraid of color.. It is only a shoe go for broke and be a little wild.. We are moms not nuns. Since your sleeves are 3/4 length get a cute bangle bracelet and dangle earrings.. Go with either a scarf or chunky necklace. A good bag for shopping is always something that will go over your shoulder and head so a think messenger bag. Coach outlet store has really cute ones for under $100. Remember you can go a little cheaper on your outfit and wear a Coach bag and glam up an outfit.

So now you have a great outfit for grocery shopping and no one will be stopping you in a store saying you need a make-over.. There going to ask you for tips.. So you say why would I do all this for grocery shopping.. Haven't you ever been in the store and met someone that you use to go to HS with or college.. Do you really want them to think you have let yourself go this much.. NO!! You want to look great and feel great.. Plus go home and get a babysitter.. put on a great slingback heal or pointy toe shoe and now you are ready to go out with your husband!! Be prepared!! And be your BEST!

New Look New You

I want this blog to be interesting and helpful.. So we are going to start small.. If you have no idea how to update your style and you don't have much money to do so then these are the tips for you..

Start with accessories.. The most important accessory you have is your face.. What can I say.. You should be taking care of your skin first.. Very important.. But the hot word for the spring/summer is Dewy.. You'll need a good bright cheek color that makes your cheeks glow.. You'll need a good cream highlighter that you can use on your high cheek bone, eyes, nose and temples.. It is versatile product so worth the money.. and of course a great lip color.. Bright or Nude.. Just keep the glow.. no matte this spring. Don't be afraid to try something new..

If nobody has complimented you on your hair style in the last two months then you need a new style or color.. If you have had the same style for more then 2 years then you need to visit your stylist.. The fastest way to update yourself is with a new cut.. If you pay $10 for your cut then I'm sorry, but you have a $10 style.. You might need to spend a little bit more on your haircut to get a better style.. If it is a good cut you can also go longer in between cuts because it will grow out into another cute style. Also don't be afraid of color.. You can always change it at your next appointment. Look in magazines and online to find a cut and color that would flatter you shape face. Take it to your stylist, but don't be upset if she can't completely copy it.. Remember your hair texture maybe different then the girl in the photo.. Make the style your own anyway.. We don't all want to be the same.. Be different..

A great accessory can make a bland outfit look stylish, or a cheap outfit look a little more high end.. What's in. Scarves and flowers and of course shoes.. Since spring is just around the corner go with a thin light and bright colored scarf. You want it to be thin because you don't want to get too hot.. It can be long or short and brightly colored.. Don't be afraid to go out of the box.. It doesn't have to be matchy matchy.. Just in the family of what your wearing..

You know the cute flower and ribbon hair accessories for your daughters or for little girls hair.. You can take them and clip them to the lapel of your jacket or corner of your collared shirt and they give you a little something special.. If you are feeling even more brave put it in the side of your hair.. Don't laugh.. I've seen it all over (runway and internet)

Shoes.. Well the Gladiator Style heals are still in.. Go for a nice silver, gold, or nude color for spring. You can really find them affordable online.. You just have to be willing to search in weird places.. Heals are an essential.. If you are not use to wearing heals, today is the day to start.. Also find a great low heal or wedge to wear out to the grocery store or shopping.. That is a great way to dress up a not so dressy outfit.. Sneakers are for working out. So are sweat suits.. I can't even talk about them.

Bags.. Invest in a one good bag.. You don't need a bag for every outfit.. Just one good one.. Even if you save for a year to get one.. Don't be afraid to ebay your big purchase.. I have sold good bags online for cheap.. so I know you can do it. If you are just starting your collection go neutral at first. Since we are going into spring.. go for pastels, tans, whites.. If your bold then go for a pattern.. but don't feel like it has to match everything you own to use it with every outfit.. Those days are over.. Thanks goodness..

I think this is a good start.. The key is don't be afraid of change. Look for accessories in lots of places.. They can be inexpensive and add huge style to your all over look.
